Adding Value and the Future

Reading – Zero to One by Peter Thiel

“Finance … It is the only way to make money when you have no idea how to create wealth.”

Definitely and Indefinitely Optimistic Futures

Thiel is honest but brutal. While a definitely optimistic future world would need engineers to design underwater cities and settlements in space, an indefinitely optimistic bankers and lawyers. When reading, I thought of incremental improvement as some odd lateral concept. Product development focused on small improvements of existing solutions is optimistic yet assumes a relatively static future.
Are small, incremental ideas definite or indefinite?
